Where d10s are used
- Dungeons & Dragons: the heavy crossbow, glaive, halberd and pike deal 1d10 damage, Fire Bolt deals 1d10 fire damage, and fighters, paladins and rangers use a d10 hit die.
- Dice-pool games such as Vampire: The Masquerade roll a handful of d10s and count each die that meets a target number.
- Percentile rolls use two d10s, one for the tens and one for the units, to make a number from 1 to 100.
0 or 10?
Most physical d10s are numbered 0 to 9, and the 0 is read as 10. flipj shows the result as a number from 1 to 10, so there is nothing to convert.
d10 odds and averages
Each number from 1 to 10 has a 10% chance, and the average roll is 5.5. Twelve d10s (12d10) average 66.
flipj uses your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source browsers use for encryption keys. We also avoid "modulo bias", a subtle flaw where some results come up slightly more often than others. Every result is generated on your device, so nothing you enter is sent to us.
