Provably fair
A giveaway picker you can prove was fair.
Paste your entrants and lock them in. Winners are decided by public randomness released 30 seconds later, so nobody (you, us, or anyone else) can rig the result. Share the certificate page so everyone can check it.

Why "provably fair" matters
Followers are right to be sceptical of giveaways: most "random pickers" just show a result on the organiser's screen, and there's no way to know how many times they clicked. A flipj draw is different: it's recorded publicly and decided by randomness that didn't exist when you entered the names.
How a draw is decided
- Commit. When you lock in the entrants, flipj stores the list and its SHA-256 fingerprint, and picks a future round of drand, a public randomness beacon run by the League of Entropy (universities and companies including Cloudflare and EPFL).
- Reveal. About 30 seconds later, drand publishes a random value for that round, signed by the whole network. Nobody can predict it in advance.
- Draw. The winners come from that value combined with the list's fingerprint, using a published algorithm. Anyone can re-run it in their browser from the certificate page and get the same winners.
Tips for a smooth giveaway
- Post the certificate link before the countdown ends, so followers can see the draw was created before the result was known.
- Export or copy entrants from comments, a form or a spreadsheet, one per line. Use "remove duplicates" if each person may only enter once.
- Pick one or two reserves in case a winner doesn't reply.
- Tick "hide names" if your entrants' names shouldn't be public. The fingerprint still proves the list didn't change.
Questions
Can the organiser cheat?
Not without it showing. The entrant list is fixed and fingerprinted before the deciding randomness exists. An organiser could create several draws and only share the one they like, which is why followers should look for a certificate link posted before the countdown ended.
How many entrants can I add?
Up to 20,000 per draw, with up to 100 winners and 20 reserves.
Does it work for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube giveaways?
Yes. Paste usernames from any platform, one per line. Tick "remove @" to tidy handles.
How can I verify a draw myself?
On the certificate page, press "Verify in my browser". Your browser fetches the randomness straight from drand and re-runs the draw. You can also check the drand round on drand's own API.
